The current parties competing against each other are Team Ninja and Team Agent. The three candidates running for the Presidency of Team Ninja are Nina1059, Pumpkin35 and Phcool23. And the three candidates running for Presidency of Team Agent are Agent Blue0, Duck072Videos and Sparkles2007.
Every candidate in a specific party has the same views about Club Penguin Island. For a week, all the candidates in each party will debate and bring out their views, in order for the first public vote. The candidate with the most votes in each party will represent the party and will head into the finale.
The two candidates in each party will then face off for a while in the finale whilst persuading the public and gaining an upper hand. When the time comes, the second public vote will take place and the winning party will win The Penguin Elections 2018.
What are each parties views?
Well, we now know how the elections are running, but what are the parties views?
If you are supporting Team Ninja, or the Ninja Party, or if you're not too sure sure on who to vote for, allow me to shed some light.
Team Ninja's goal is as follows:
Team Agent, or the Agent Party's goal is as follows:
What does all this mean?
Let us now do an in-depth analysis of what each party's goals are.
Bringing the Big Updates
The Ninja's believe that the "stamina" of updates on Club Penguin Island is good, which is what the Ninja Party would like to see more of. They'd like to see the release of Card Jitsu and the Elite Penguin Force.
The Ninja's believe that CP Island is "different...than Club Penguin was." They would encourage more "original" parties to give the game that "authenticity it deserves."
Renovation of the blog
The Ninja Party believe the blog can "stand out" with more behind the scenes videos and logs of the teams work. Interaction is also encouraged.
Quality and not necessarily quantity
The Ninja's proclaim that we should all "appreciate the stuff we enjoy" and questions if we could see more zones, improvements and an extension to Mount Blizzard.
In the Ninja's words, "those mascots just stand there waiting for us to never visit them again unless there is a new adventure to embark on...". They suggest that the mascots should move and encourage the idea of Rockhopper sliding down 'Plummet Summit' and listening to his insight in 'island secrets.'
The Ninja's encourage the idea of Disney 'advertising' Club Penguin Island, since it's their one and only virtual world.
More ways to play
Ninja's believe that Club Penguin Island should be accessible to Nintendo Switch. They believe that this should be the case, because Nintendo Switch is gaining popularity, which would, at the same time, boost Club Penguin Island's fame.
Back to basics
The Agent Party start of by stating that "big updates are cool" but calls the bugs that come along with them "annoying" and some of the features a "lack-lustre". They proclaim that the "smaller things" like "improving a penguin's quality of life" would mean a lot to "a lot of people".
New puffle creatures
The Agents encourage the CP Island team to get "creative" with the new puffle design, since the original Club Penguin was its predecessor.
Evolving the chat filter
The Agents state that one is "unable" to express their voice in a "satisfying way". They then encourage "amping up the moderation" or "implementing a new system" where players are allowed to suggest improvements to the system.
In case most people don't know, Tube racing and Sea cave racing involves two or more players. However, the Agents believe that, although these are fun, mini-games like "Aqua Grabber" could return.
Pins for the win
The Agents believe that pins can be much more "immersive" since CP Island is in 3D.
Expanding the franchise
The Agents strongly believe that CP Island should introduce the release of "merchandise" including "plushies" and an official "magazine"
Enough ways to play
The Agent acknowledge the fact that CP Island may not be "very well suited" for gaming consoles, however, they strong beleive that they can make "standalone games" for those consoles that could get you "exclusive rewards" and "expand what's already been established on the island in exciting ways".
How can I support who I support?
Recent hashtags have been developed on Twitter to support the two parties. These hashtags are:
#PenguinElections #TogetherThursday #TeamNinja #TeamAgent
And of course, how can you support your team if you don't have some sort of slogan or picture of that team on you? The makers of Together Thursday have even created Twitter profile pictures and header pictures to go along with them! Very neat! All the profile pictures can be found on Club Penguin Summit, a Club Penguin blogging website. They can be found here:
As you can see, a lot is going on on Club Penguin Island!
